Prof Dux AR
Prof Dux ARbrings an AI professor into your room in augmented reality — just place him and talk out loud. Below are quick-start steps, requirements, and fixes for common issues. If something isn’t covered, email us and we’ll help.
Getting started
- Open the app and grant Camera, Microphone, and Speech Recognition permission when prompted.
- Point your iPhone at the space in front of you — a desk, table, or floor — and tap to place Professor Dux.
- Speak naturally. He listens, then replies out loud. No typing needed.
Requirements
- iPhone running iOS 18 or later.
- A working camera and microphone.
- An internet connection (the AI runs in the cloud).
Troubleshooting
I wasn’t asked for camera/microphone permission, or denied it by mistake
Open iOS Settings → Prof Dux AR and enable Camera, Microphone, and Speech Recognition, then relaunch the app.
Professor Dux won’t appear / won’t place
Make sure you’re in a reasonably lit room and slowly point the camera at a flat, textured surface (a plain glossy floor can be hard to detect). Move the phone gently so it can map the space, then tap to place.
He can’t hear me
Check that Microphone and Speech Recognition are enabled (see above), that the device isn’t muted, and that you’re in a relatively quiet space. Speak clearly at a normal pace.
No voice / no sound from Professor Dux
Turn the volume up and check the silent (ring/silent) switch. The voice streams from the internet, so confirm you have a connection.
Replies are slow or fail
The AI runs in the cloud, so a weak connection can cause delays. Try again on a stronger Wi-Fi or cellular signal.
